Travesty!
Just seen the results of the Writers & Artists’ Year Book Historical Fiction Competition. I submitted an entry based upon the Irish Folk group the Dubliner’s drinking song ‘Whiskey in the Jar’. Some of you may recall that this was also a hit for Thin Lizzie back in 1970 something.
I was unsuccessful – which was disappointing – but upon comparing my entry with the winning one – ‘Scirocco Winds’, disappointment has turned to – well, I must say I feel a bit miffed. I have attached both the winder and my own contribution to the side bar. I would be interested to hear your views.
Anyway moving swiftly on; I just made the Bridport Prize deadline. My submission is also attached.
As ever fingers crossed.
